Expressions such as
“think globally, act locally” and
“small things can make a big difference” perfectly sum up the thinking behind
INFINITUM Resort’s residential and landscape project comprising eco-friendly houses that are subtly
immersed in nature. In fact, the houses constructed as part of this project have been awarded the BREEAM sustainability certificate for various reasons, including their environmentally friendly design; the materials used in their construction; their energy efficiency and CO2 control systems; and the impressive quality of the site. And that’s what they’re like! Not only are they exclusive, comfortable and safe, but they also seek to minimise their environmental impact while showing absolute respect for their privileged natural surroundings. Are you looking for an eco-efficient home that is in perfect harmony with nature? Well, take a look at our project!
What measures are implemented in our eco-friendly resort on the Costa Dorada?
Batlle i Roig, a pioneering architectural firm in the areas of sustainable architecture and energy efficiency, has managed to find absolute harmony between our ecological villas and their natural surroundings. As a result of their fantastic work, we have been awarded the internationally recognised
BREEAM certification.
Our houses were designed to be energy efficient, with recycled materials and
certified sustainably managed timber being used in their construction. This allowed us to bring down
energy demand and renewable electricity consumption, thus reducing the need for heating and cooling inside the homes. Following an environmental quality study, we were found to offer an advanced design in terms of ventilation and technical and lighting comfort. We are also proud of the environmentally friendly waste management procedures that we employ. For example, the sustainable way in which we manage the water used to irrigate the indigenous plants in the complex allows us to benefit from significant
water savings. Further examples of our ecological credentials include our desalination plant, which cleans wastewater and prevents it from flowing into the Mediterranean Sea, and the fact that we replanted the same number of indigenous trees as those that were felled to prepare the terrain.
All of this was considered with a view to creating a
healthy setting that would allow us to reduce our environmental footprint. We’re located in a privileged setting on the shores of the Mediterranean that is surrounded by protected natural spaces, making it an ideal habitat for local fauna and flora and endangered species. For this reason, we also strive to reduce our environmental impact by limiting road traffic within the residential complex and promoting
sustainable transport, with charging points available for electric vehicles. This allows us to efficiently reduce the amount of CO2 that is emitted on our private streets.
But how do these actions translate into figures? Well, our
sustainable houses have led to a
92.31% reduction in overall emissions and energy savings of 89.55%.
