Hills Golf Course Renovation: Tactical Challenges & Sustainability

That is why we are announcing the renovation of our Hills golf course located on the Costa Dorada, aiming to make the second round as competitive and high-quality as the best courses in Europe. This ambitious project is led by Dave Sampson, architect of the new Ryder Cup course at Marco Simone (Italy). In collaboration with European Golf Design, we have initiated remodeling actions to provide players with top-notch facilities and a more challenging and sustainable layout.

Following the success of our previous renovation project at the Lakes golf course, this time at INFINITUM, we have raised our expectations to offer an unparalleled and high-quality playing experience. Everything is set for the big leap, and by the end of 2025 (September), Hills will be fully ready for those seeking an exceptional golf experience. A More Sustainable and Tactical Golf Course

Nestled in a privileged natural setting, the Hills golf course is renowned for its challenging design and stunning Mediterranean landscape. With its elevated tees, prime location among pine trees and cliffs, and breathtaking sea views, Hills stands out as one of the most spectacular and challenging courses in Spain. Thanks to the beauty of the surroundings, Hills promises a playing experience where technique and strategy converge.

At INFINITUM, we are committed to the continuous improvement of our facilities. That is why this Hills renovation focuses on sustainability and design. In terms of sustainability, to reduce water consumption and improve the turf's adaptability to the Mediterranean climate, the fairway grass will be replaced with Bermuda 419, a more resilient and efficient variety. Additionally, for the collars of bunkers and greens, we have incorporated Zoysia, following the successful model implemented at the Lakes course.





The renovation will be carried out in two phases. The first phase, covering holes 10 to 18, will be completed by September of this year. The second phase, covering holes 1 to 9, will begin in December 2025 and be fully completed by September 2026. This project aims to enhance gameplay challenges, including redesigning several key holes, such as:

• Hole 10: Extended from 120m to 150m with a new tee location to protect the new parking area.
• Holes 15 and 16: The direction of play is reversed, improving strategy and course layout.
• Hole 18: A new island green, protected by water in front and behind, adding a strategic challenge and a stunning visual impact.

Additionally, to optimize maintenance management and improve gameplay dynamics, eight bunkers will be removed from hole 12. This change will facilitate the greenkeeping team's work without compromising the challenge of the course.
